Hello, I’m Julian :)

The devotion to the art of game development began when four-year-old Julian discovered Causation by making Sonic jump. I earned my degree in Computer Science from Sonoma State University, and taught myself C# and Unity, driven by a need to learn more about game programming. I’ve been developing solo ever since, and am proud to present this portfolio. Video games have the highest creative ceiling of all entertainment media and thusly remain my lifelong passion.

While I create all of the art and design for my games, I consider myself a programmer first and focus my efforts on crafting layers of complex, overlapping mechanisms. This philosophy has me gravitating towards mechanics-heavy Roguelikes.

I also make pixel art! It began as low-barrier art for my games but blossomed into a genuine passion for the style.

Examples of my code can be found on GitHub.

Check out my resume to learn more about my experience in each step of game design.

What do I work with?

My style is detailed, grungy, patient. I love a rough pixel art aesthetic and a focus on systemic gameplay.
